Bio: For the past twelve years, Gloria has worked with the Pierce County Traffic Safety Task Force to design and deliver community-driven initiatives aimed at reducing deaths and injuries on roads throughout the county. These have included Party Intervention Patrol, Target Zero Teams, Home Safe Bar and Victim Dedications in conjunction with High Visibility Enforcement Patrols, Motorcycle Safety Projects, and Law Enforcement Phlebotomy Projects in Lakewood and Pierce County. Last year, she helped launch pedestrian safety programs in Puyallup, Tacoma, and Lakewood.
Prior to her traffic safety injury prevention work, Gloria was a Senior Policy Analyst with the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services where she worked on the development of the Child and Family Services Act designed to support more accountable, responsive and assessable child and youth services. She also worked with provincial governments and community leaders across Canada to develop community service systems for deinstitutionalized persons while working at the Canadian Association for Community Living. She was the Director of Family Support Centers with Lutheran Social Services and the President of the Children’s Trust Foundation in Seattle before beginning her traffic safety work.
She has a Master’s Degree from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs, Syracuse University, New York.
