Josh Ley
Region 1 Target Zero Manager
Bio: Josh Ley was hired by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 and worked in the jail for one year before becoming a Patrol Deputy. In Patrol, he served as a Field Training Officer, a Traffic Unit, and aided in investigations as a Forensic Child Interviewer. Josh also became a vehicle collision reconstructionist through the WA State Patrol, and was further trained in shooting and bomb scene reconstruction. In 2016, Josh became a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
In January 2019, Josh was appointed as an Inspector for the Sheriff’s Office; as such, he assumed the TZM role, supervises the traffic unit, reconstructs major collisions, is the lead investigator for internal matters, and assists the Criminal Investigation Bureau Detectives as needed.
Traffic safety priorities for region:
- Reduce impaired and distracted driving collisions and fatalities
- Educate drivers on the possible consequences of negligent/distracted driving
- Educate youth on the possible consequence of impaired driving
- Child Passenger Safety
