The Washington Traffic Safety Commission funds and administers multiple programs promoting traffic safety across Washington.
Coming in 2024! Community Speed Management Education and Resource Guide: The guide will contain information about the risks associated with speeding, especially in context with vulnerable road users (pedestrians, children, road workers, bicyclists, motorcycles) and increases knowledge of laws and change management strategies for slowing and lowering speeds through policy change.
Speeding in School Zone Study: Speed limits in identified school zones and walk routes are intentionally slower to mitigate risks for children, youth, and adults walking, riding, or driving to and from school. WTSC conducts a bi-annual speeding in school zone study to capture driver behaviors to support community efforts to slow speeds and calm traffic to protect vulnerable road users.
