Region 13

Bio: Marisol serves as the Region 13 Target Zero Manager with the Yakima Valley Conference of Governments, bringing over six years of experience in public health. Her background includes prevention, coalition coordination, community outreach, youth engagement, and data-informed program planning. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Eastern Washington University and remains dedicated to serving communities across the Yakima Valley through prevention and public safety initiatives.

Prior to joining YVCOG, Marisol worked as the Drug-Free Communities Coordinator at Safe Yakima Valley. In this role, she led coalition-based substance use prevention efforts, strengthened community partnerships, supported youth-focused programs, and collaborated with schools, law enforcement, and local organizations. Her work emphasized using local data to guide prevention strategies, increase community engagement, and promote positive behavior change.

Marisol specializes in advancing positive social norms and applying data-driven strategies to influence community behaviors. She has extensive experience developing and managing multi-platform media campaigns, including message creation, media placement, and performance evaluation to maximize impact.

She is passionate about serving Yakima County and the broader Region 13 area by supporting community-led efforts to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes. Marisol looks forward to working alongside law enforcement, local agencies, schools, and community partners to address traffic safety priorities and help create safer roads for all users.
