The Washington Impaired Driving Advisory Council (WIDAC) has approximately $1.4 million in state funds each biennium. Project proposals are accepted around the start of each biennium, usually in July of odd-numbered years. Funding decisions are made by WIDAC based on the need in WIDAC issue areas. Funds are distributed to projects in these issue areas.
Current 2017-2019 Projects Include:
- Judicial Outreach Liaison contract
- DUI Benchbook updates
- Toxicology lab equipment and personnel
- Treatment and rehabilitation
- Law enforcement training including phlebotomy projects
- DUID Blueprint
- Impaired Driving Strategic Plan update
- NHTSA Assessment of the State Impaired Driving Program
